Sanitary pads are a serious problem to the girl child, which has been identified as one of the causes of absenteeism from school. In some cases it leads the girl child to even drop out from school. Similar projects have been embarked upon to highlight this as a national crisis like:

Cradock Cycling Tour is therefore intended to also assist the girl child, schools and the community in general at Cradock.
